The Tub Guy

There was a time before Rich Honchell/Pallidan Tub Refinishing that I had no clue that a reglaze (refinishing) a tub was a “thing”. I had a garden tub that was dull and an odd color; but being a single mom, not able to afford to replace it, lived with it.

Fast forward 5 years and started dating this entrepreneur doing just that! What a concept! Wait…. he can fix cracked tubs and damaged tubs with holes too?!

Rich’s story started back in 1993 starting his own way, his baby if you will toward the business he has, that includes his youngest son, Aaron. Providing people with an alternative of ripping out tubs that are worn, the wrong color, damaged yet still viable. Allowing homeowners to save money, time, and quality tubs during a remodel.

As the business has evolved, fiberglass / acrylic tubs and sinks made their way into the market. He found that they are unfortunately not the quality of a steel or cast iron but understandably easier to install etc. So, he found a way to again help homeowners, construction companies, etc. by creating a permanent fix for cracked tubs.

With Rich having a background in autobody work, his finesse in repairing holes, cracks, etc. made this transition into repairing shower units, shower pans, fiberglass tubs, surrounds possible. This allowed for homeowners to save hundreds to thousands of dollars, countless hours and headaches of remodeling and replacements of the same low quality, thin material alternatives available in big box construction stores.

Fast forward almost 30 years and people are still unaware of the possibility in preserving their tubs, sinks, countertops, tile and offering tub conversions for those needing assistance getting into the tub. Though it has caught on well enough that the father/son duo work not only in the residentials, but retirement homes, apartment complexes, hotels, amongst other places.

Pallidan’s track record and reputation has proven that a service helping people can be a successful one. By the way, the old garden tub needing refinished, got a new life before selling my home and marrying the “tub guy”.
