Answer: Most often tubs can be refinished rather than replaced. If you have a cast iron or steel tub, you have the best quality tub available. Trying to replace that tub will be costly and possibly not of the quality that you already have.

Fiberglass, acrylic, clawfoot, cast iron and steel all can be refinished at a fraction of the cost of a replacement. To replace a tub, you more than likely will have to replace flooring, tile or the surrounding walls and possible drywall as well. So cost is just one of the main factors of refinishing rather than replacement. Also the convenience of having the tub or shower refinished in just one day — no disposing of trash, the tub, flooring, etc.

Bathtub Liners are expensive and leak water! Tub Liners also have a bad reputation for flexing and cracking as well as developing leaks around the drain causing foul odors. By putting a plastic over your existing bathtub or tile, you will lose natural shine and feel of porcelain.

Answer: Our company uses a large evacuation system to help expunge the smell of stripping, etching and porcelain finish from the area out of an adjacent window in your home. The smell that may linger is no more than the smell of someone painting their fingernails.

Answer: Our family-owned business of 26+ years uses only the highest quality finish on the market, backed by our 8-year warranty — the longest in the industry.

We use a porcelain enamel finish that adheres well to your prepared surface as well as having lasting shine and color if cared for properly according to our warranty sheet. Others may quote a lower price, but using acrylic or polyurethanes will cause your tub to yellow and dull quicker as well as skipping any of the etching and priming stages of the process causing your refinish to fail.

Answer: Pallidan offers a 8(eight)  year warranty that covers the adhesion of the material to your tub. If you take care of your tub as required by the warranty, this refinish will long outlast the estimated 8-10 years. Care and product used on your tub is up to you for best results.

Answer: If you are remodeling your bathroom, it is important that we are basically the last to come in, typically. Please call us to be sure your tub is refinishable.

Most often all surrounding work, whether fiberglass or ceramic tile, plumbing, changing of fixtures, etc. should all be completed prior to us coming in. You wouldn't want a tile or tool falling into your newly refinished tub.

The process to have your tub reglazed is approximately 4 hours. We offer morning and afternoon appointments, Monday-Friday.

Answer: It certainly can if it is a cast iron or steel tub. Fiberglass and acrylic is dependent on certain factors, so please call us for more information. If your tub has been reglazed prior, a proper stripping of the material is done and then a finish is applied again.

Answer: This is what we consider just a basic reglaze and it can be refinished in any color you choose. We have 100s of factory-ready colors as well as on-site custom color matching.
